G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital recently announced that Debbie Wilson is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for August 2008. Debbie has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Hospital since September 22, 1993. She presently is an Accredited Records Tech in Health Information Management.

A fellow employee nominated Debbie and had the following to say about her:

“Debbie has worked for GVMH for almost 15 years. During the last five years she has been heavily involved in implementing several Meditech modules. She has spent countless hours of her own time studying the new system and developing new procedures for our department. She is always ready to learn new things and tries to keep current in her profession.

Debbie is always a step ahead of everyone in the department in pitching in to help out in an area that is falling behind in the workflow. She has worked one on one with several employees in the department making practice scenarios for testing the Meditech system. She can do practically every task in the department.

Debbie is a shining example of customer service. She has worked with virtually every department in the hospital. She has given Meditech training to several departments with the new Scanning and Archiving Module in Meditech. She greets all customers in our department in very warm and friendly manner. She has a way of defusing a tense situation and calming tempers.

Debbie always has a very positive attitude in every situation. She is always quick to organize our department for any celebration or to help out a fellow employee in need. She routinely brings cards for the department to sign and send for birthdays, sympathy or thank you notes. She also makes a great Rum Cake.

Debbie has made a great contribution to GVMH with recent Scanning and Archiving Module. Because of staff shortages in our department, Debbie was left to accomplish most of the work on her own. She never complained and actually expressed the fact that she wished she could do more to help. Debbie has served on committees in her church. She also has participated in Relay for Life. She is a very attentive daughter to her mother. Debbie is a very well rounded employee and a joy to work with in every situation.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, Debbie was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month. Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital

Debbie is also one of twelve finalists for the 2008-2009 Staff Member of the Year award.
