G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare recently announced that Kim Hamblin is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for February, 2010.  Kim has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since August 17, 1992.  She presently is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on the Medical Floor.                 

A fellow employee nominated Kim and had the following to say about her:

“Kim is always willing to adjust her schedule to help out.  She often comes in at 3 am to help cover the night shift.  When Utilization Review has an opening due to vacation, Kim is readily available to fill in even if it means giving up her days off.  Kim orients new staff and does a great job of teaching even when it slows her down to teach and take care of patients.

Kim often times will volunteer to help cover shifts before being asked.  She is so willing to help that management feels bad when she offers because she is always the one pulling the load.

Kim is one of the friendliest and easiest to talk to on 3 West.  She has a wholesome, caring attitude and is extremely dedicated to GVMH.

Kim is the nurse who orients our new employees on 3West because she has such a positive morale and speaks highly of the organization.

Kim has given her dedication to GVMH since 1992.  Outside work Kim has two daughters who are actively involved in horsemanship and 4H.  Kim helps out with all of this.  If this world had more Kim Hamblin’s we would be so blessed.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, Kim was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month.  Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital.  Kim is also one of twelve finalists for the 2009-2010 Staff Member of the Year award.
