G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital recently announced that Dianne M. Rhea is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for February 2008.  Dianne has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Hospital since October 25, 2004.  She presently is a RN in the Intensive Care Unit.

A fellow employee nominated Dianne and had the following to say about her:
“Dianne has worked in the ICU for over three years now.  She is someone who never complains about floating to other areas.  She is dependable, will fill in when needed and will change shifts to cover holes.  She is thorough in her assessments and is knowledgeable of her patient’s status and needs.  Her personal care of her patients is outstanding.  Dianne is always looking at staffing needs on other shifts.  She makes suggestions and changes shifts to cover the unit.  She is very flexible. Dianne has stated on numerous occasions how grateful she is and how much she loves her job here at GVMH.  She always takes the extra minute to be sure her patients get the care they need.  She has stayed over late on many occasions to assure a smooth handover of care of her patients. Dianne always participates in celebrations in the unit, big or small.  She cooks for dinners, participates in get-togethers and always congratulates fellow employees on their achievements. Dianne is supportive of the Roscoe School District as her husband is the Principal there.  He also coaches basketball in Appleton City.  She is a church member and is active with her grandchildren’s activities.  Dianne is a good nurse, loves nursing, and has stated on many occasions that she ‘doesn’t know how anyone could burn out on nursing, because she just loves it’.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, Dianne was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month.  Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital.  Dianne is also one of twelve finalists for the 2007-2008 Staff Member of the Year award.
