January 2012 Staff Member of the Month

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) recently announced that Vicki Harrison is the G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for January 2012.  Vicki has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since July 1999.  She presently is a Quality Management / Infection Control Secretary.

A fellow employee nominated Vicki and had the following to say about her:

Vicki has been employed at GVMH for over 12 years, starting in Health Information Management Department and transferring to the Quality Management and Infection Control department seven years ago.  She is very positive and always speaks positively about GVMH.  Vicki is very dependable not only in her attendance, but in everything she is given to do.  She is definitely a “go-to” person if you desire quality results and need something done.  I can always trust that Vicki will get the job done!!

Vicki is very versatile and able to multi-task with great ease.  Because she assists both Quality and Infection Control and Employee Health, she handles a broad range of tasks and many times must improvise and be creative to accomplish the assignment.  Many times she has had very creative suggestions for savings of time and resources and still accomplishes the goals!  She helps to plan, coordinate, and serve at all the customer service celebrations.

Vicki always keeps a watchful eye out for patients, visitors and staff who need assistance and goes out of her way to assist them.  Because Vicki oversees the Gold coupon customer service program and assists with the employee health program, she has constant interactions with GVMH staff.  She is always very friendly and helpful to all who call or come by her office.  Vicki always offers a warm smile, a listening ear, a helping hand and words of encouragement.

I have heard so many employees comment about Vicki’s helpfulness and friendliness.  She makes coming to work very pleasant and I am very blessed to work with someone so positive no matter how her day is going.

Vicki has served on the employee STEPS committee and oversees the customer service award program.  She volunteers her time to help the “Remember to Dream” foundation which provides horse riding therapy for special need individuals.  She is also active with her grand children and volunteers at Henry Elementary when needed.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, Vicki was given a corsage, a parking spot and $100.00 gift certificate.  Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital.  Vicki is also one of twelve finalists for the 2011-2012 Staff Member of the Year award. Congratulations, Vicki!
