Staff of the Month: June 2009

G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital recently announced that DeAnna Willett is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for June 2009.  DeAnna has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Hospital since December 23, 1996.  She presently is the Human Resources Assistant.    
     
A fellow employee nominated DeAnna and had the following to say about her:

“DeAnna has been employed here since 1996 – 12 years.  DeAnna rarely misses work and when she does take PHO time, she usually comes in weekends and evenings to keep her workload caught up.  DeAnna heads up the STEPS committee and this requires a lot of her time.  DeAnna takes her job very serious and is extremely dedicated to GVMH.

DeAnna is always taking on new job responsibilities and she is a very quick learner.  She works fast and with very few mistakes.  She is versatile.  She is able to pick up where she left off after interruptions.  She has been very creative in working with STEPS and putting together the program booklets.  DeAnna is a perfectionist and this shows in her work.

DeAnna Willett has a great attitude.  She makes eye contact with all who enter her office.  She smiles and greets them by name and never makes them feel like they are bothering her.  She is very cooperative with her co-workers and goes above and beyond to help them.  She has a great attitude and many employees leave HR with a smile due to the way they were treated by her.

DeAnna is a very positive person.  In the hot heat one summer she gave a ride to a young lady carrying a small child.  They were walking to the clinic for an appointment.  She then went above and beyond by letting the young lady know how to go about getting rides in the future.  One day it was raining hard, she ran out to her car then back to the entrance to give a co-worker a ride to their car because the co-worker did not have an umbrella.

DeAnna is very loyal, she is a mother of two great children.  She has done a wonderful job turning them into responsible young adults.  She never misses any of their activities--which are numerous.  She is a loving wife, sister and is very close with her parents.  She serves on the United Way Board.  She attends the Methodist Church.  She enjoys working out and encourages others to be healthy.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, DeAnna was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month.  Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital.  DeAnna is also one of twelve finalists for the 2009-2010 Staff Member of the Year award.
