March 2010 Staff Member of the Month: Tammy Breshears

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare recently announced that Tammy Breshears is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for March 2010. Tammy has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since June 3, 1996. She presently is a C.N.A. at Home Health.
A fellow employee nominated Tammy and had the following to say about her:
“Tammy has worked as a C.N.A. for our agency for nearly 14 years, beginning right out of high school, where she had received her certification. She has gained knowledge with her experience and demonstrates an exceptional amount of dedication and commitment to both the department and her clients. She is willing to do whatever is asked, and does it willingly. Her clients all request her back if they come back on our services.
Tammy is always willing to learn new procedures and care for complicated cases. She manages to find ways to meet the needs of even the most challenging client situations. She identifies needs in the client’s homes and performs jobs without being asked. Tammy’s clients are so spoiled that if she isn’t able to see them or is off for a day, they frequently don’t want anyone else because they don’t think anybody else can care for them as well as Tammy.
Tammy is considerate and professional with her clients, even in difficult circumstances. She has good rapport with her clients and provides caring support to all those she is assigned to see. Her calming manner with clients is remarkable, helping create a better environment for them.
Tammy is an excellent team player and a good role model for new aides. She always has a positive attitude and a smile and a kind word for everyone. She is a good mentor for students and new employees, helping them feel comfortable with their duties. Many of our client’s lives are made brighter because of Tammy’s presence.
Tammy is very involved with her young daughter and her school activities and extra-curricular activities. She goes above and beyond expectations in caring for our clients, bringing cheer to many homes in our community.”
In being named Staff Member of the Month, Tammy was given a corsage and a $100.00 gift certificate. Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital. Tammy is also one of twelve finalists for the 2009-2010 Staff Member of the Year award.
Congratulations, Tammy!
