October 2009 Staff Member of the Month

G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare recently announced that Tracy Gilcrest is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for October 2009.  Tracy has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since July 23, 2007.  She presently is an Occupational Therapist in Rehab & Wellness and spends much of her time working in Home Services.           
    
A fellow employee nominated Tracy and had the following to say about her:

“Tracy came to GVMH right after graduating from college in July of 2007 and has worked here since.  Her performance has been outstanding and she often goes above all expectations, assisting patients in locating needed equipment and even shopping on Ebay for the best deals for them.  She and her husband have also collaborated to help make needed equipment when they couldn’t locate something otherwise. 
Tracy initiated a program of closer coordination with the aides in improving and expediting the rate of the patient achieving independence with personal care.  She began scheduling joint visits with the aides so she can teach them what to focus on to improve patient outcome.  This is just one of the many examples of her initiative and creativity.

Tracy is always well liked by her patients and receives a lot of positive feedback on patient satisfaction surveys.  Tracy is always willing to do what needs to be done to meet the needs of her patients.  She is friendly and courteous with everyone she comes into contact with from patients to co-workers to family members.

Tracy always wears a smile and displays a positive attitude.  She is a team player and works well with others to provide the best care possible for her patients.  She is an excellent role model for other employees and a great example of a “customer service champion!”

Tracy has always been willing to do what is asked of her, floating to assist in many different areas of rehab.  She also works with the schools to provide therapy for students who require it.”

In being named Staff Member of the Month, Tracy was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month.  Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital.  Tracy is also one of twelve finalists for the 2009-2010 Staff Member of the Year award.
