GVMH Employee of the Month: September 2009

G.V.M.H. STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare recently announced that Jeanie Boehler is G.V.M.H. Staff Member of the Month for September 2009. Jeanie has been an employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare since March 21, 2005. She presently is an Aide in Environmental Services.
A fellow employee nominated Jeanie and had the following to say about her:
“Jeanie’s attendance is great; she rarely misses work. Dependable is a good description for Jeanie. There is never any doubt she won’t keep our area clean and go above normal expectations. She never hesitates to work around our busy schedules nor is she a distraction for us. She always does extra. Vacuuming more often due to renovations, etc., tying trash bags so they don’t fall down in the receptacles, defrosting our refrigerator and always looking for anything out of the ordinary that may need to be done. Even if I don’t see who cleans our area, I can tell by looking if it was Jeanie or someone else. She is always loyal to GVMH and readily accepts challenges and changes that occur with not only her job but also the whole hospital.
Jeanie shows initiative by never having to be asked to vacuum an extra time if we get the office dirty. She is versatile and never looks at it as “extra” work but happily goes with the flow of whatever needs to be done. I’ve heard from her co-workers that she never hesitates to jump in and help them.
She is always friendly and courteous to everyone she meets and never seems to have a bad day. She always has a positive attitude. Everyone I talk to about Jeanie has positive things to say about her. I know visitors and patients are aware of her hospitality as she takes time out of her work to escort them to wherever they need to go.
Her morale is always good, which flows to everyone around her. It is hard to stay in a bad mood when Jeanie comes in smiling and good-heartedly teases you about something you discussed with her previously. It is obvious she gets along well with everyone and never hesitates to stop her work to help someone. She is an excellent role model for the rest of us as she goes about her work in a positive, cheerful and competent manner.
Jeanie attends her grandchildren’s ballgames. She is an attentive grandmother and she loves her family and talks of them often. Jeanie demonstrates exactly what we ask for from all staff; when she meets other staff in the hallway she smiles, greets them by name, and asks “is there anything else I can do for you?” I truly think Jeanie is proud to work at GVMH and represents the hospital in a positive way to the community.”
In being named Staff Member of the Month, Janie was given a corsage, a $100.00 gift certificate, and a special parking place for the month. Her name will be engraved on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the hospital. Jeanie is also one of twelve finalists for the 2009-2010 Staff Member of the Year award.
Congratulations, Jeanie!
