GVMH Volunteer of the Month - October 2008

The Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is very pleased to announce the Volunteer of the Month for October is Avis Compton.

 Avis wrote the following about herself:

“I am pleased to be chosen Volunteer of the Month. I retired from Dr. Bailey’s dental office, after working there for fourteen years. I have three stepsons and four grand-children (with another one on the way).  After the joy of caring for our granddaughter for two years, some friends talked me into volunteering at GVMH and I am glad they did. I enjoy quilting, bowling and fishing with my husband, Tony.

The VOLUNTEERS are a great group of people, and I think we are fortunate to have such a good program, aptly lead by Pam Crump.”

Avis is a great volunteer. She is bubbly, fun loving, mischievous, but also caring, compassionate and very sensitive to the needs of others.  The combination is a great fit for the GVMH Auxiliary and Volunteer Services!
