Come join us on Thursday, April 15, for a fun-filled day of health and wellness information. Men are welcome, but ladies, this one's for you. We'll start the day at 1 p.m. with several informative educational breakout sessions, followed by free health screenings, a health expo and capping the day with our award-winning keynote speaker, Karen Wingert, PT, MA, DPT, RN. Wingert is a clinical associate professor at the School of Health Professions within the University of Misssouri Health Systems. Wingert is known for her humorous and inspirational presentations, so bring your girlfriends! Several physicians, including Ken Holt, DO; Amber Campbell, DO; Brendan Bagley, MD; and Richard Woodland, DO, will be on hand for some of the sessions. Free screenings begin at 2 pm by appointment (please call 660-890-8452). Screenings include cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure. An expo will be open from 4 - 7 p.m. and will feature a variety of vendor and health education booths with information for women. Dr Hockstad will speak at the 1:00 breakout session titled, Let’s Have a Heart to Heart. He is a founding member of the Kansas City Heart Foundation and remains involved as president of the organization’s executive committee. In addition to providing cardiology services at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, he brings his enthusiasm and research expertise to his work at Kansas City Cardiology Associates and Research Medical Center, where he serves as Director of Interventional Cardiology. more... |

Join Dr. Ken Holt on April 15 when Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare hosts “Take Charge of your Health Ladies…You Deserve It”. Three of the sessions at the Women's Event will be presented by Dr. Ken Holt, OB/GYN. His programs will include information about incontinence, menopause and cervical health. Dr. Holt has been practicing as an OB/GYN at Golden Valley Medical - Clinton for nearly five years. As an OB/GYN specialist, his practice consists of delivering babies, providing routine gynecological care as well as gynecological surgeries and urogynecology. Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare has exciting news for its patients and visitors. By the end of the year, GVMH will take on a new look to all who enter. Upon entering the hospital’s front entrance, a newly remodeled, large lobby will greet patients with an easy view of the elevators. The Zeta Gilvin Scholarship is made available by the generous donations of the family of Zeta Gilvin, her many friends, and from fund-raising activities conducted by the Nursing Department at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare.
