» Gus S Wetzel Appointed to UCM Governing Board

WARRENSBURG, MO (Nov. 8, 2011) – Missouri Gov. Jeremiah “Jay” Nixon has named longtime Clinton resident Gus S. Wetzel, II, M.D. to the University of Central Missouri’s Board of Governors. The appointment, which must gain state Senate confirmation, fills a seat currently held by Richard Phillips, Lake Tapawingo, whose term has expired. more...

» Dr. Fazal Abul S.M. Ali Receives Board Certification

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology has confirmed Board Certification to Abul Fazal S.M. Ali, M.D. on the successful completion of its Certification Examination in Neurology. Board certification confers a standard of excellence in knowledge and practice to physicians who not only certify via the examination process, but who also work diligently on the maintenance of these skills during their active practice years. more...

On November 17, 2011, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Physician Clinics along with the Missouri Association of Rural Health Clinics (MARHC) will join with the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and rural health care providers across the country to celebrate National Rural Health Day. The day is an opportunity to celebrate the strong spirit of the nearly 62 million Americans living in rural communities. » GVMH Engineering Department Receives NAFA Clean Air Award

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare’s Engineering Department is proud to be the recipient of the 2011 National Air and Filtration Association (NAFA) Clean Air Award.  This award was presented to only 22 hospitals throughout the United States.  Only two Missouri hospitals have ever received this award; GVMH proudly accepted this year’s award and Liberty Hospital was last year’s recipient. more...

» GVMH Culinary Graduation

On October 18, Mike Bailey and Vickie Thrasher of the Food and Nutrition Services Department at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital graduated from Chef Don Miller’s Healthcare Culinary Academy.  Ron Sabitini, Certified Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Operations from Don Miller & Associates was on hand for the presentation. Also presenting awards were Randy Wertz, CEO of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare and Craig Thompson, Assistant Administrator/Professional Services at GVMH. In order to successfully complete the Culinary Academy, the cooks have spent the past eighteen months enhancing their culinary skills, studying official chef terminology, and perfecting the recipes used at GVMH.  In addition, the staff had to be recommended for and successfully pass the healthcare culinary exam. more...
