» GVMH Home Services Receives High Scores for Improvements
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare would like to congratulate their Home Services staff in relationship to their outstanding improvement in quality care as rated by Medicare’s Home Health Compare scores.  GVMH Home Services showed improvement in 11 of 12 outcomes and they scored higher than the state and national average in 10 out of 12 outcomes. » CEO Randy Wertz meets with Legislators in Washington DC
Randy Wertz CEO, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare and forty-three other hospital executives, board members and medical staff traveled to Washington, D.C., on September 22 and 23 to meet with their federal legislators. The event was sponsored by the Missouri Hospital Association as part of its Federal Advocacy Team initiative. Participants met with Missouri’s U.S. senators and the five representatives whose districts are predominantly rural. more...
» GVMH and Henry County Health Center Provides Education Meetings for School Nursing

 

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare and Henry County Health Center developed a partnership to bring educational meetings to area school nurses. The School Nurse Network meetings were organized so that topics of interest could be brought to area school nurses and allow them to network with one another.  The meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the GVMH Medical Plaza Classroom.  The guest speaker for the September meeting was Gary French, Emergency Planner at the Henry County Health Center.  Gary gave information about H1N1 and what schools could expect this flu season.  For more information about our upcoming meetings, call 890-8451. more...
» GVMH Home Service Aides Attend Home Care Aide Day in Jefferson City
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Home Services recently participated in Home Care Aide Day in Jefferson City.  Tammy Breshears, CNA and Shuntell Hall, CNA accompanied by their supervisor, Donna Barnett, LPN enjoyed numerous activities including signing of the proclamation by the governor and a tour of the capital. In addition, they were treated to lunch in the capitol and tours of the Governor’s Mansion and Cole County Historical Museum. more...

» GVMH Hosts Donor Recognition Reception

The Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation recently honored donors at the Donor Recognition Reception held on September 9. The reception was an opportunity to thank individuals, foundations and businesses that provided support to the GVMH Foundation during its 2009 fiscal year.  There were over fifty donors that made contributions at the Patron, Fellow, Sponsor and Sustainer levels. Donors attending the event were able to view one of the newly renovated patients rooms. more...

» GVMH Foundation Receives Grant For Transportation

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation recently received a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation for $2,500. The grant is part of the Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Assistance (MEHTAP) Program and provides operating expenses so that GVMH can provide transportation for the elderly and handicapped at a low cost from Warsaw, Windsor, Deepwater or Calhoun.  It is estimated that the grant will enable nearly 2,000 rides to be provided this year to patients. The service is provided through a contract with OATS, that includes a trained and certified driver, and a van equipped for those with physical disabilities. more...

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare would like to announce that GVMH Diabetes Self-Management Program has been awarded continued Education Recognition from the American Diabetes Association.  The program was originally recognized in November 2000. more...
