Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare is offering "The Cooking College" on Monday, March 23 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the GVMH Medical Plaza. Participants can choose two from any of the following four demonstrations: Cooking for Diabetes, presented by Sherry Collins, MSRD LD, CDE; Heart Healthy Cooking presented by Cathy Barth RD, LD; Cooking Light presented by Lori Naber RD, LD; and Cooking for One or Two presented by Janean Lanning, Dietetic Technician and Rhoda Crawford CDM, CFPP. Each participant will be entered into a grand prize drawing. Cost for the program is $15 and pre-registration is required. The 2009 Diabetes Walk will be held March 28 on the Downtown Square in Clinton, Missouri. The money raised will be used for individuals that are not able to pay for education, strips, or medication and will remain local. Call Jamie Ketterman at 660-885-2253, Ext. 6081 for more details. The Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Auxiliary scholarships will be awarded in April at the Annual Auxiliary Awards Luncheon. To qualify for a scholarship, you must be a current school year, high school graduate of a Henry County School or a current employee of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare. The Auxiliary awards two scholarships to graduating seniors, two to GVMH employees and one scholarship is awarded to a previous recipient on a continuing basis, until they have completed their healthcare related degree. more... |
