Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation hosted, An Evening to Remember on October 3 at the Benson Center.   The evening started with a social hour and the opening of the silent auction as well as entertainment by Mr. Naz, an international magician.  Throughout the evening, those attending were treated to music by The Cambiano Trio. Chef Julie Greenwood, C.W.P.C, Sodexo, provided Chef gourmet cooking stations and buffet, and Valerie’s Photography was available for photos to commemorate the evening.

The theme for this year’s event was Fire and Ice. A solid piece of “ice”, a nearly one-carat diamond, was given away at the end of the evening to one lucky winner. All attending had an opportunity to buy a $20 Fire & Ice drink with a small envelope attached. The envelope contained a loose stone and a ticket number on the envelope. Barry Glasscock of Glasscock Jewelry announced the winning number at the end of the night after all the stones had been examined. Rita Barbee held the envelope with the winning stone.

Proceeds from the benefit will be used to continue renovation of patient rooms at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Funds are still needed for room renovations, and all donations will be appreciated.  For a $7500 tax-deductible contribution, donor recognition will be placed on the patient room door or within the room signifying the generous contribution. A plaque will be placed on the patient room door signifying the generous contribution. All donations can be mailed to the GVMH Foundation, 1600 N Second Street, Clinton, MO 64735. » GVMH Foundation Receives Grant for Transportation

grant

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation recently received a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation for $2,500. The grant is part of the Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Assistance (MEHTAP) Program and provides operating expenses so that GVMH can provide transportation for the elderly and handicapped at a low cost from Warsaw, Windsor, Deepwater or Calhoun.  It is estimated that the grant will enable nearly 2,000 rides to be provided this year to patients. The service is provided through a contract with OATS, that includes a trained and certified driver, and a van equipped for those with physical disabilities.

Transportation is a barrier for many elderly and handicapped. The GVMH Foundation is pleased to receive this funding that will make it easier for individuals to get to appointments and receive medical care when needed.  Transportation is available Monday through Thursday. To schedule a ride to one of our locations call 890-7272.
