GVMH Foundation and Diabetes Services' Annual Walk for Diabetes will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Clinton High School. Registration is at 8:30 am and the walk begins at 9:00. The Elk’s Lodge will be fixing breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy and juice and coffee. Tickets for the breakfast are $5.00. Team captains and volunteers are needed for the event.
The GVMH Foundation and the Diabetes Services Department join together each year to organize the event. The purpose is to raise funds to help area diabetes patients who need medicine or supplies, and to provide diabetes education in the area. This year’s theme is “Make it Your Goal – Kick Diabetes!” and the Missouri Comets Soccer Team will be here to kick off the event with a Soccer Clinic for kids ages 4 and up! Please RSVP to Jamie Ketterman at 660-885-2253, ext 6081.
The Walk for Diabetes is designed to inspire and mobilize the general public, volunteers, donors, corporations, and the medical community to rally around this cause. Last year, the event hosted nearly 400 walkers and raised nearly $18,000.
Please contact Jamie Ketterman 660-885-2253, ext 6081 if you are interested in being a team captain, volunteering or being a sponsor for the event.
