GVMH Opens Electroneurodiagnostics Center
Sleep disorders can be a drain on your quality of life and can pose serious health threats. They are linked to a greater risk of heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeat and heart failure and those who suffer from daytime drowsiness have an increased risk for accidents at work and on the road. It is estimated that about 70 million – or more than one in five – Americans suffer from sleep disorders.
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare would like to announce the opening of the new Electroneurodiagnostics Center. The new Center began services on October 12, 2009 and includes EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Sleep Studies, CPAP/BiPAP desensitization education, Multiple Sleep Latency Testing and Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing. The Electroneurodiagnostics Center is located in what was previously the Inpatient Rehab Facility. The move to this location allows for more space and privacy. The home-like atmosphere is more relaxing and helps patients acclimate more easily to the environment, which improves the quality of the test and allows for daytime testing.
