CEO Randy Wertz meets with Legislators in Washington DC
Randy Wertz CEO, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare and forty-three other hospital executives, board members and medical staff traveled to Washington, D.C., on September 22 and 23 to meet with their federal legislators. The event was sponsored by the Missouri Hospital Association as part of its Federal Advocacy Team initiative. Participants met with Missouri’s U.S. senators and the five representatives whose districts are predominantly rural.
Topics of discussion included health care reform legislation, rural health care issues, expanding the 340B drug discounting program, Medicare physician fees and the need for consistent regulatory standards. Legislators also were given an analysis of district-specific Medicare margins for PPS hospitals in their districts.
