Randy Wertz Named to MHA Board of Trustees

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Randy S. Wertz, FACHE, chief executive officer of Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo., has been appointed to the Missouri Hospital Association Board of Trustees. His three-year term began Jan. 1.

As a member of the MHA Board of Trustees, Wertz’s responsibilities include overseeing the administration of MHA and developing association policies.
“We are pleased to have someone with Randy’s depth of experience assume this important leadership role,” said Marc D. Smith, MHA president.

Before joining Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in 1988, Wertz served from 1986 to 1988 as assistant administrator for operations and finance at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, Calif., and from 1985 to 1986 as chief financial officer for Community Hospital in Huntington Park, Calif. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville and his master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.

In 1995, Wertz served as president of the MHA Southwest District Council and he has served on MHA’s Finance and Budget Committee since 1996. In 2000, Wertz was recognized with MHA’s Visionary Leadership Award. 

The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents  152 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
