GVMH Information Technology Scores High Among Missouri Hospitals
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare’s Information Technology (IT) Department has been working hard to advance their Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Converting paper records to digital records is a long process that saves storage space, reduces cost and reduces errors. Representatives from Meditech, a medical software company, recently visited GVMH to evaluate the EMR implementation.
GVMH is honored to be selected as site for other healthcare organizations to visit to learn about Meditech. Selection was based on advanced use of the EMR system and scoring in the top 6% of a complete EMR per the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
On a 7-point scale, GVMH scored 5.1 compared to 2.15 for other hospitals their size. The average score for all hospital statewide was considerably less than GVMH at 3.21.
Each site visit to GVMH results in a financial incentive from Meditech. Congratulations to the GVMH for their advanced technology.
