JODY A. BARKER JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A new member joins the Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Board of Directors. Jody A. Barker, Sr. Vice President of First Community Bank in Clinton was appointed to complete the term of the late Scott Shoemaker.

The Board of Directors is instrumental in carrying out the mission of GVMH.  “Having lived and served in the community for the past 15 years, I know how vital the hospital is to the community. Research shows a direct link between the availability of healthcare services and economic development,” says Barker. Mr. Barker shared, “I am most honored to be asked to complete the term of a highly respected member of our community and the GVMH Board of Directors, Scott Shoemaker. He left a legacy of caring about others.”

In addition to Mr. Barker’s appointment to the GVMH Board of Directors, Jody also accepted an invitation to complete Scott Shoemaker’s commitment to the GVMH Foundation Board.  Jody will serve as an appointed member of the GVMH Board until the 2011 election.

Jody Barker completed his undergraduate education at Missouri Western with a degree in Economics and Management. In 1996, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. Jody is a member of Clinton Elks Lodge #1034, Sunrise Optimist and Holy Rosary Church. He and his wife, Karen, have raised two children in Clinton, Steven and Ashton.
