Clinton's Craig Thompson named to MU School of Health Professions Alumni Board

(Columbia, Mo.) Craig Thompson of Clinton, Mo. has been named to the University of Missouri School of Health Professions Alumni Board. Thompson, who graduated from the school in 1996 with a degree in physical therapy, joins other school alumni in advancing support for the school and for Mizzou.
Thompson is employed by Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton where he serves as an assistant administrator and Chief Compliance Officer. As a member of the alumni organization board he hopes to represent the rural hospital and health care perspective and encourage more students to consider one of the nine degree areas the school offers for a career.
“I am concerned about the shortage of allied health professionals in the rural setting. Allied health professionals are some of the best and brightest practitioners in health care and fill some of the positions in greatest demand,” Thompson says. “There is great opportunity for allied health professionals in rural settings and I would like to educate current students on the benefits of practicing in a rural setting and I would like to increase recruitment of prospective students who currently live in rural settings.”
The School of Health Professions Alumni Board is to be a resource for the School of Health Professions in developing scholarship support for current students, providing enhanced communication and advocacy on behalf the school’s graduates and encouraging volunteerism in local communities.
“This organization is dedicated to encouraging our alumni to support the School of Health Professions and to participate in building a greater University of Missouri,” Thompson says. “I am proud to be part of that effort by serving on this board.
