HD Technology at GVMH
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare would like to announce that GVMH Endoscopy Department is now using High Definition technology to provide better images during scope procedures such as colonoscopies, bronchoscopies, and gastroscopies. Most people have become familiar with HDTV through personal experience as a consumer - perhaps in their own home. Simply put, broadcast HDTV is based on a set of standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture.
Today, HD technology is being combined with the latest camera and imaging systems used for endoscopy to enhance the capabilities of physicians. High-resolution HD images provided by endoscopy cameras generally mean greater clarity and visibility.
GVMH's Endoscopy Department has recently updated all endoscope processors to the Fujinon EXP -2500 processor. This processor provides images in high definition and with no loss of quality making them pin-sharp, clear, and in natural colors. Monitors are now 19" High-Definition LCD which incorporates the latest in digital imaging technology for outstanding image reproduction. In addition, endoscopes are being intermittently up-dated to the newer HD and slim designs.
Compared to conventional systems, high-definition Endoscopy provides physicians with sharper images and better contrast, which in turn may help them to better observe and evaluate changes and lesions in the GI system. As a result, physicians may provide their patients with more accurate diagnoses.
