Dr. Ken Holt to Speak at GVMH Women's Event

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare is hosting “Take Charge of Your Health Ladies…You Deserve it”, a fun, educational women's event, scheduled at the Benson Center in Clinton from 1:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15.  A variety of educational sessions will be presented by healthcare professionals with an expo from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Three of the sessions will be presented by Dr. Ken Holt, OB/GYN.  His programs will include information about incontinence, menopause and cervical health.

Dr. Holt has been practicing as an OB/GYN at Golden Valley Medical - Clinton for nearly five years. As an OB/GYN specialist, his practice consists of delivering babies, providing routine gynecological care as well as gynecological surgeries and urogynecology. Dr. Holt also serves as the Medical Director of the GVMH Birthing Center.

Dr. Holt completed the OB/GYN residency program in 2005 at KU Medical Center, one of the leading OB/GYN training programs in the country.  During his residency, he studied gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, maternal fetal medicine as well as general obstetrics and gynecology, preventive care, family planning, infectious diseases, and surgical management of genitourinary prolapse.  Prior to OB/GYN residency, Dr. Holt received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in 2000 and completed an internship in family medicine at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood in 2001.

Dr. Holt also received the Outstanding Senior Award from the University of Kansas Medical Center upon completion of his residency in obstetrics/gynecology.  He was the Chief Resident for 2004-05.  Dr. Holt was also a Wetzel Scholar and Chair of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons Health Information Technology Committee and in 2009 he was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
