Karent Wingert to Speak at Women's Event and Expo

Our keynote speaker, Karen Wingert, DPT, RN will begin at 6:00 p.m. Karen has been active in the health of Missouri women her entire adult life. Earning degrees in physical therapy and nursing, as well as education, Karen has made a profound impact on women as a clinician and a professor at the University of Missouri.
Karen has received a plethora of accolades in a variety of areas, being nominated for the First Lady of Missouri Award in the categories of Health and Education, Recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Missouri, and earning the “Hall Of Leaders Award”, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions by alumni of Columbia Public Schools.
Karen has presented all over the world, from Missouri to Brazil, and is considered an expert in her field on women’s health. Her presentations have included a multitude of topics, including posture and exercise recommendations during pregnancy, treatment choices and prevalence of lymphedema associated with breast cancer, internationalization of physical therapy, and women’s health throughout the lifepan.
Currently, Karen is an associate clinical professor for the School of Health Related Professions at the University of Missouri, as well as a practicing physical therapist in Women’s Health Services at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia, MO.
