GVMH Home Services Welcomes New Director and New Service

Golden Valley Memorial Hospital would like to welcome their new Home Services Director, Cheryl Foster, RN, BSN. Cheryl came to GVMH from Kansas with 14 years of experience in home health management. Marlene Miller, who has served as director for 23 years, is working as Assistant Director and plans to retire in 2009.
With so much focus on the importance of the continuum of care, Home Services provides a vital link enabling patients to regain independence in their home setting, and improving patient satisfaction and outcomes. One of the new services provided is the addition of Synagis injections for high-risk infants to help prevent Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). RSV is a respiratory virus that poses a significant health risk for pre-mature infants and babies with heart or lung problems. Synagis injections are given once monthly during the RSV season (which is generally considered as November through March).
