The scholarship is made available by the generous donations of the family of Zeta Gilvin, her many friends, and from fund-raising activities conducted by the Nursing Department at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare. Zeta Gilvin was a Registered Nurse at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare for 19 years and was a surgical nurse at the time of her untimely death.
Alicia Harkey is the wife of Roger Harkey and the mother to Alexis. Alicia graduated from Clinton High School in 2005 where she received academic excellence for two years, was involved in many activities such as Skill USA, DECA and the tutor-mentoring program. Alicia also became a certified nursing assistant while in high school and started working at GVMH after her graduation.
Mark Mattes, Assistant Administrator/Patient Care Services stated, “It has been a pleasure to watch Alicia learn and grow as a nursing assistant, a young woman and mother and now we will get to see her become a nurse and I know she will help us build a healthy America.” Please join Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in congratulating Alicia in winning the Zeta Gilvin scholarship.
