DEPARTMENT: Emergency Department
SHIFT: 7p – 7a (every other weekend required)
STATUS: 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)
RISK EXPOSURE: High (Category I)
OPENING DATE: November 4, 2009
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Current Missouri EMT License - National Registry preferred 2. Current BLS certification 3. Current Missouri Driver's License 4. Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians 5. Appropriate documentation skills, to include filing, accurate chart, audits, charge reconciliation, registration etc. 6. Appropriate computer skills, as ambulance documentation is computerized 7. Instructional/communication skills as relates to patients, family and staff education 8. Ability to take call and respond to the hospital in 20-30 minutes 9. Flexibility in scheduling 10. Excellent patient assessment skills for all age groups of patient population 11. Knowledge of vehicular safety, driving skills with good safety record and knowledge of map reading 12. A team player 13. Ambulance experience 14. Triage experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, stooping, pushing and pulling, writing, listening, ability to handle high level of activity for prolonged periods of time and must be able to exert the physical activity necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the position. Must be able to hear sufficiently and speak clearly. Must be able to operate an emergency vehicle.
