INPATIENT
Occupational therapy routinely provides evaluation and treatment to patients
following illness, injury or surgery with a focus on functional activities
such as bathing, dressing, feeding, functional mobility, upper body
strengthening, upper body function and coordination. Adaptive equipment can be
provided to enable patients to increase their independence in performing daily
tasks.
OUTPATIENT
Occupational therapy treats outpatients with
orthopedic and neurological conditions such as upper extremity fractures, hand
injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and CVA. Treatments include range
of motion, strengthening, coordination, pain control, and functional activities.
INPATIENT REHABILITATION FACILITY
Occupational therapy is part of a comprehensive
therapy approach of the use of purposeful, goal-directed activity aimed at
improving a person’s functional skills and ability to function at the highest
and safest level of independence possible.
HOME HEALTH
Occupational therapy treats patients through GVMH’s home
health agency with a focus on functional activities such as bathing, dressing,
feeding, functional mobility, homemaking, upper body strengthening, upper body
function and coordination.
