Work Site Testing

In order to confirm an employee’s physical capacity to perform requirements of their job, GVMH offers Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) testing.

Junior Munsterman, MPT, ATC, and certified PCP testing administrator, explains the process of the Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test to waiting employee.
Golden Valley Memorial Hospital is committed to providing employers and employees with a safe work environment and the ability to hire people with the strength to perform their job safely. In order to confirm an employee’s physical ability to perform requirements of their job, GVMH offers the Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) testing system.
Unlike other employee fitness tests, such as job simulation or physician’s physicals, the PCP provides objective, baseline data about an employee’s maximum performance. Test administrators, which have met professional credentialing, utilize state-of-the-art computerized software to produce a comprehensive collection of multiple strength measurements within a matter of minutes. Within two minutes of the test’s competition, a report is generated with information showing if the employee has the ability to perform their job. A second report showing an employee’s pre-existing limitation or conditions is also produced. The data the PCP testing system collects is also valuable for physicians and in workers compensation settlements because they can know precisely what an employee’s physical strength was before an injury.
Employees can now have confidence that when injured they will be returned to the physical level they were at before the injury. The employer will know the worker is safe to return to their job as well. Golden Valley Memorial Hospital is currently using the PCP Testing system with our employees and is offering the service to area employers.
