Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Begins Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

Clinton, Mo. – (Dec. 21, 2020) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce that it has started administering COVID-19 vaccines to front-line workers, including providers, nurses, respiratory therapists and other support staff in partnership with Compass Health Network.

Healthcare providers across the nation are starting to receive the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to help prevent people from getting the virus. Vaccines boost your immune system so it is ready to fight the virus if you are exposed.

Missourians will qualify for vaccination based on three priority phases:

  • Phase 1 – Healthcare workers, essential workers and high risk populations
  • Phase 2 – Phase 1 populations, as well as all Missouri residents
  • Phase 3 – Widespread availability for all Missouri residents

GVMH does not have specific information on when the vaccine will be available to high risk populations or Phase 2 and Phase 3 participants yet, but will keep you informed.

Dr. Jamie Ball, Pediatrician at GVMH, was one of the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. “I did it to help protect our patients and everyone I care about,” she said.

“We encourage everyone in our communities to contact your primary care provider to learn more about the vaccine and consider getting a vaccination to protect yourself, as well as your family, friends and neighbors,” said Craig Thompson, CEO at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare. “The vaccine gives us one more weapon in our arsenal to help defeat COVID-19.”
