Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Recognizes Heart Month and Stroke Awareness

Clinton, MO. – (Feb. 10, 2023) – In recognition of American Heart Month, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is encouraging its patients and communities to learn how they can reduce their risk of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 877,500 Americans die of heart disease, stroke or other cardiovascular diseases every year. To lower your risk, CDC recommends that individuals:

  • Engage in regular physical activity
  • Maintain a healthy diet
  • Manage and lower high blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Stop smoking

To assist patients following a cardiac event, GVMH offers a Cardiac Rehabilitation program at its outpatient facilities in Clinton, Osceola and Warsaw.

“Our Cardiac Rehabilitation team personally supervises each patient’s rehabilitation program, which may include exercise training, education and counseling on heart-healthy living,” said Kristal Moran, Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at GVMH. “By working together, we can improve your health, quality of life and prevent future heart problems.”
