Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Adds Family Medicine Physician

Clinton, MO. – (Aug. 21, 2025) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to welcome Eric Villarreal, MD, Family Medicine, to its Clinton Clinic.

As a Family Medicine Physician, Dr. Villarreal provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, with a focus on preventive health, chronic disease management and patient education. He brings a well-rounded clinical background, a strong academic foundation and a passion for mentoring and community service.

Dr. Villarreal earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M International University, here he participated in diverse clinical rotations, including psychiatric inpatient care and family medicine clerkships. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, TX, where he has served in key leadership roles.

Villarreal has conducted research on antibiotic resistance and urinary tract infections, and has received several awards, including the Above and Beyond Award in Family Medicine Clerkship. He is a longtime volunteer in his hometown of Laredo, TX, preparing food for homeless populations and providing health screenings for underserved patients.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Association of American Medical Colleges, and remains committed to mentoring future healthcare professionals through educational outreach and panel discussions.
