Our hospital laboratory provides full-service inpatient and outpatient testing with the most up-to-date equipment and accurate results. Available 24/7, our lab performs hundreds of thousands of tests annually, supporting and informing 70% of medical decisions for ordering providers. At all our locations, we use PCR technology, known as the “Gold Standard” for respiratory illness testing. With a 99% sensitivity rate, our advanced testing detects common viral infections quickly and accurately.
Our on-site, board-certified pathologists work closely with your doctors and surgical team to ensure timely evaluation of surgical samples. We provide real-time and post-operative consultations, so you and your care team get the answers you need — when you need them.
For added convenience, our clinic labs in Clinton, Osceola, Warsaw and Windsor coordinate with our main Hospital Lab to ensure you receive seamless, consistent and highly reliable results. Our Hospital Lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), demonstrating safe and accurate testing close to home.
Note: If you need local testing from an outside provider, they can fax test orders to our main Hospital Laboratory at 660.890.7173. We recommend calling ahead to confirm we have received the orders or bringing a paper copy with you.

Our system’s laboratory service line is proud to be accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), one of the most prestigious certifications in the industry. Our team includes certified medical technologists, technicians, phlebotomists and board-certified pathologists.
Our medical technologists also hold certifications from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), ensuring specialized technical expertise and high-quality patient care.
Patients can view their test results through the myGVMH Portal or contact our Health Information Management Services at 660.890.7133, or stop by their office at 1600 N. Second Street. They are available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
