Sleep Studies

We offer an expanded outpatient sleep and neuro lab to provide sleep, nerve conduction and EEG studies, along with comprehensive diagnostic studies and in-home sleep studies.

If you have any of the following sleep-related issues, you should discuss a sleep study with your physician:

  • Gasping or choking sounds while you sleep
  • Lethargy and sleepiness during the day even when you have spent enough time in bed to be well rested
  • Loud snoring
  • Pauses in breathing during sleep
  • Seldom wake up feeling refreshed and alert
  • Trouble adapting to shift work

Sleep studies are tests that measure how well you sleep and how your body responds to sleep problems. Typically, technicians will attach electrodes to monitor air flow, brain wave activity, cardiac rate, and chest, leg and eye movement while you sleep. To diagnose sleep-related problems, doctors may use a polysomnogram (PSG) test, a multiple sleep latency test (MSLT), a maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT), and/or a home-based portable monitor. A sleep technologist will help to make the room as comfortable as possible and can answer any questions you may have about the procedures.

Our sleep lab is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
