Deborah Gash

Chief Information Officer

Gash is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare innovation and information technology, bringing more than 25 years of experience leading digital transformation and health IT strategy to Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH).

As Chief Information Officer, Gash oversees all aspects of information technology and telecommunications systems and serves as the HIPAA Security Officer. She is responsible for aligning technology initiatives with GVMH’s strategic objectives to enhance patient care and experience, improve service quality, drive operational efficiency and support future growth.

Before joining GVMH, Gash served as Interim Chief Information Officer with Korn Ferry in Chicago, IL., where she managed all aspects of information technology services for healthcare provider organizations. In that role, she completed operational assessments, developed recommendations for optimization and led the execution of improvement initiatives.

Previously, Gash was Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, MO. There, she provided vision and leadership to develop and implement innovative IT initiatives, including digital health strategies and telehealth programs, while continuing to oversee CIO responsibilities. She directed enterprise IT planning and execution to improve cost-effectiveness, service quality and business development, collaborating closely with executive leadership, physicians and cross-functional teams.

Gash holds an MBA from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, MO and a bachelor’s degree in health services management from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and holds numerous certifications, including Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) and Certified Digital Health Executive (CDH-E).

Throughout her career, Gash has received numerous honors, including the ORBIE Leadership Award from KansasCityCIO, recognition as one of 50 Innovative Chief Digital Officers to Know by Becker’s HR and inclusion among Ten Influential Women in Health IT by Fierce Health, among others. In addition, she has been published in the Journal of Healthcare Information Management and Most Wired Magazine; maintains many professional affiliations, including with the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME); and has served in numerous industry and community leadership roles.
