You Can Take a Walk in the Park

Clinton, Mo. – (May 29, 2019) – You can spend a fun Saturday morning supporting a worthwhile cause when you participate in The Amazing Race to Stop Diabetes.

Sponsored by Smith’s Restaurant, the annual event is set for Saturday, June 1, at Artesian Park in the Missouri National Guard Armory. The Clinton Elks Lodge will serve a grab-and-go breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. which includes breakfast burritos, fresh fruit and beverages. Donations are welcome.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Individuals are welcome to participate at no cost although donations are gladly accepted. Booths will be set up and those who visit the displays will be entered into door prize drawings. The walk kicks off at 9 a.m. outside the Armory with optional challenges along the short route. In the event of rain, activities will be moved indoors. The morning wraps up following the final weigh-in for the community-wide “Commit to Fit” program at 10 a.m. Awards and prizes will be presented at that time.

Families, friends, church groups and coworkers come together each year to walk.
