Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Prepared for Novel Coronavirus

Clinton, Mo. – (March 10, 2020) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH)  is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Henry County Health Department, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Hospital Association to closely monitor the outbreak caused by Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We are prepared to respond to potential cases of COVID-19,” said Craig Thompson, chief executive officer at GVMH. “Like all hospitals across the country, we are monitoring the situation closely. Our physicians and staff in public health and infectious disease have invested extensive time and energy to ensure that we are prepared to handle this and other public health concerns. While our risk is extremely low and we do not believe there is any reason for immediate concern locally, we are taking all the necessary precautions. As in all cases, we are committed to providing high-quality care for our patients while keeping our employees and community safe.”

To help prevent COVID-19:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands well and often.

If you feel sick with fever, cough or difficulty breathing, please contact your healthcare professional.
