Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Selected to Participate in the Rural Healthcare Provider Transition Project
Clinton, Mo. – (Jan. 13, 2022) – On behalf of the Health Resources Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP), the National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center) is excited to announce that Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) has been selected to participate in the Rural Healthcare Provider Transition Project (RHPTP).
RHPTP is designed to help strengthen the foundations of small rural hospitals and certified rural health clinics (RHCs) in the key elements of value-based care including, but not limited to efficiency, quality, patient experience and safety of care. The goal is to guide small rural hospitals and certified RHCs to prepare for and position their organizations to be effective participants in a health system focused on value.
GVMH will receive technical assistance through focused and comprehensive consultations with nationally recognized consultants. Only five hospitals and/or RHCs are selected on an annual basis to participate in RHPTP. The selection process is competitive.
The top five applicants that meet eligibility criteria and organizational readiness and demonstrate that they are willing and able to complete participation requirements are chosen. The selection process considers the organization’s leadership and their commitment to implementing best practices.
With the support of the FORHP, The Center is proud to recognize GVMH for this outstanding accomplishment and looks forward to working with them and the community of Clinton, Mo.
“It is an honor to be one of five rural hospitals, out of nearly 2,000, to be selected to partner with such prestigious organizations focused on the quality outcomes of our patients,” said Christine Faulconer, Director of Quality and Risk. “Being selected to work with these partners shows that we are staying on the cutting edge of medicine and our hard work and dedication is being recognized nationally.”
