Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Awards Scholarships to Four Students

Clinton, Mo. – (May 8, 2020) – Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is pleased to announce four recipients of the 2020 GVMH Healthcare Recruiting Scholarships.

Abigail Lewis and Delaney McGuire, both from Clinton High School, Jayda Vaughn, from Osceola High School, and Destinee Young, from Sherwood High School, will receive a $500 scholarship, renewable up to four times, for a total of $2,000.

To receive the scholarship, students must be planning to pursue a degree and career in a clinical healthcare related field. Recipients are selected based on their interest in healthcare, GPA, involvement in school clubs, activities and sports, as well as volunteer or internship hours with GVMH and participation in the annual MASH camp.

Lewis will be attending State Fair Community College for nursing; McGuire and Vaughn will be attending Southwest Baptist University for nursing; and Young will be attending the University of Missouri – Kansas City for nursing.

“We are delighted to award these students with scholarships to help them pursue a career in healthcare,” said Greg Shannon, chief human resources officer at GVMH. “Supporting youth in our community who are interested in a healthcare is a priority to our organization.”
