Visitor Information

Visitor Guidelines

Our visiting hours are Monday-Sunday from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. You may enter through our main hospital entrance (H) during these hours.

Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask, but not required.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied at all times by someone over 18 years of age that is not the patient.

We expect patients, visitors and employees to treat all hospital staff, other patients and visitors with courtesy and respect; abide by all hospital rules and safety regulations; to not smoke or use tobacco anywhere on the GVMH property; and be mindful of noise levels, privacy and number of visitors. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

Birthing Center:

  • No children under the age of 12 will be allowed in the room during labor. After delivery, siblings of any age may visit.
  • Children that are not siblings will not be allowed in the Birthing Center.
  • While in labor, visitors are limited to the coach and one other visitor.
  • No visitors except the coach/support person for the first two hours after delivery while the mother is in her recovery period.
  • Support person will be allowed visitation any time.
  • Any children that are in the Birthing Center must be under the continuous supervision of an adult and not left in the care of the new mother.
  • Quiet Time, as stated in the HUSH program, will be from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and visitors will not be allowed during this time.
  • We ask that our waiting room be used in a fashion that allows for social distancing for our patients and other visitors.  Children may not be left unattended in waiting room.

Cancer Center:

  • One visitor per patient in the Clinic and Infusion.

Emergency Department:

  • No admittance is allowed unless under the supervision of the ED staff.
  • One visitor per patient preferred.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave during exams and procedures.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

  • No admittance is allowed unless under the supervision of the ICU staff.
  • Two visitors may visit at a time.
  • Visitors will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed by the nursing staff.

Visitors are allowed to use our waiting rooms and Café.


Cell Phones

Cell phones are allowed in most areas. Please keep devices on silent when possible. 

Free WiFi

We are pleased to offer our patients and visitors with access to free high-speed internet. To connect, select GUEST as your WiFi option.

Food Options

Bistro

Our Bistro, located inside the outpatient entrance of the hospital, serves Starbucks® coffee and drinks, gourmet sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, soup, salads, desserts, pastries and much more.

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 

Café

Our Café is located on the ground floor of the hospital. We serve a variety of hot and cold food options.

The Café also has several steam-table options available, as well as foods cooked-to-order from the grill, Panini press or fryer. In addition, a salad bar and sandwich station are available for lunch, and we have a grab-n-go cooler, snacks and beverages available for patients, guests and staff throughout the day. 

Hours: Monday-Friday 7-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Room Service

Room service is available for visitors at $5 per meal.

Vending Services

For your convenience, vending services are located throughout the hospital and feature hot and cold drinks, chips, candy and packaged foods. If you are unable to get a snack, please ask a nurse to assist you.

Gift Shop

Our gift shop is located in the main hospital lobby.
