Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Updates Visitation Policy

Clinton, Mo. – (Nov. 16, 2020) – Due to the local and regional increase of COVID-19 cases, Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare has updated its visitation policy. Effective immediately, no visitors will be allowed to see patients staying in the hospital; however, special exceptions will be considered for end-of-life situations.

For patients that are seeking care at GVMH facilities, only one support person will be allowed to accompany the patient.

The main hospital entrance is closed and patients should enter through the clinic, outpatient and emergency entrances.

If you need assistance from the GVMH Business Office or Health Information Management (HIM) department, please call instead of coming to the facility. You can reach the Business Office at 660.890.7125 and HIM at 660.890.7133.

Weekday curbside COVID-19 testing is available at all GVMH clinics in Clinton, Osceola, Warsaw and Windsor. To schedule an appointment for testing, contact your primary care provider and/or call 660.890.7300. Hours of availability for curbside testing are available on the GVMH website.

“We strongly encourage everyone to wear a face mask, social distance and wash your hands to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the ones we love,” said Craig Thompson, CEO at GVMH. “With the surge of COVID-19, it has reduced the number of beds we have available at our hospital for patients with COVID-19 and other illnesses, as well as our ability to transfer patients to other hospitals for specialized care, as they also have limited space. In addition, it effects our level of staff available to care for patients. Many have been placed on quarantine or isolation due to exposure or contracting the virus. We are all eager to get back to a more normal lifestyle and must work together to fight COVID-19 and move ahead.”
