Dear Prospective Residents,
Thank you for your interest in the Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) Family Medicine Residency Program.
Our mission is to train compassionate, skilled and adaptable family physicians who are prepared to provide exceptional care in rural and underserved communities. We believe family medicine is uniquely positioned to improve the health of communities by building lasting relationships with patients and delivering comprehensive care across generations.
As a rural residency program, we offer broad clinical training designed to equip residents with the skills needed to practice full-scope family medicine and meet the unique healthcare needs of rural communities. Our small program size allows for individualized mentorship, meaningful relationships with faculty, and a supportive learning environment where every resident is known, valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
One of our greatest strengths is the opportunity to train in a community where physicians truly make a difference. Residents work alongside dedicated faculty members and healthcare professionals who are committed to teaching, service and excellence in patient care. Through these experiences, our graduates develop the confidence, competence and leadership skills necessary to practice full-spectrum family medicine and become advocates for the communities they serve.
